Hi, I'm Ricky

I am a Creative Director & Placemaker building the infrastructure where community forms.

My work spans the intersection of hospitality, art, and civic life and I design environments that inspire communion, comfort & authentic expression.

To me, placemaking is an Operating System. It is the strategic layer that turns a physical space into a living, breathing organism.

Formerly engineering atmosphere for iconic institutions like The Los Angeles Athletic Club and The Grand by Gehry, I now lead Art of Club Studios. We partner with luxury residential properties and hospitality groups to transform dormant spaces into magnetic community anchors that feel vibrant, alive, and financially sustainable.

Experience

Founder & Creative Director

Art of Club Studios

2025 - Present

Established a Placemaking Studio specializing in community development and hospitality operations. Leveraging my background in corporate hospitality (Related Companies, LAAC), we serve hospitality brands and residential assets by architecting engagement strategy and managing creative production—turning physical spaces into high-frequency community anchors.

Complex Director of Marketing & Membership

Los Angeles Athletic Club & The Aster

2023-2025

Rapidly promoted through three executive roles within a private equity portfolio. Recruited as Director of Membership to revitalize the historic LAAC, expanded scope to Director of Programming & Partnerships to align strategy across two venues, and advanced to Director of Marketing—leading the complex's entire marketing & membership division to drive revenue and cultural relevance.

Director of Lifestyle & Experience

Related Companies, RMC — The Grand by Gehry

2022-2023

Engineered a 'private club atmosphere' within Related’s $1B flagship residential tower. Transformed the traditional landlord-tenant dynamic into a 'live-in membership' model—anchoring the building within Grand Ave's cultural corridor (The Broad, MOCA). Operationalized hospitality standards that drove leasing velocity and established a new benchmark for luxury residential retention.

Membership Experience & Sales

h Club Los Angeles

2018-2020

Founding team member for the West Coast expansion of London’s iconic private club. Orchestrated the recruitment and curation of a 2,000+ member community, specializing in the alignment of cultural programming with commercial growth. Operationalized a "service-first" culture by developing brand training for F&B and operations teams, while simultaneously managing high-touch member programming—ranging from intimate fireside chats to large-scale brand partnerships—to cement the club's position as a premier creative hub in Los Angeles.
